(Annajm) 53 : 50
وَأَنَّهُ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا الْأُولَىٰ
And it is He who destroyed the former Aad.
‘Aad people’ is the people to whom Messenger Hood was deputed. Allah destroyed the wrongdoing people of the Messenger Hood by saving Hood and the believers with him. The Aad people who were destroyed are known as former Aad, and the saved Aad people are known as latter Aad. See explanation 46: 21-28.
